Lance Pettiford earned his B.A. in Visual Communications from North Carolina Central University. He also obtained a degree in Graphic Design from The Portfolio Center in Atlanta. With more than 25 years of experience in art direction, Lance has composed and collaborated with high-profile creative teams to visually display scores of innovative and compelling stories. In addition, he has worked with publishers and agency clients to form strong relationships, develop design concepts, deliver editorial visions and achieve strategic business goals.
Lance has been the recipient of numerous awards for his editorial work. These include a nomination for a National Magazine Award Finalist for general excellence, AIGA 50, several Ozzie awards, and multiple awards and merits from the Society of Publication Designers. Lance has also been a judge for SPD's prestigious annual design, photography, and illustration competition.
